Traffic Control Services is a professional traffic control company based in Western Washington. We are family-owned and have been in business for over 25 years. We are currently seeking full-time or part-time traffic flaggers from $20-50/hr. Other benefits include dental and health insurance coverage after 60 days of employment and a $500 sign-on bonus after 90 timecards. As a flagger, you are responsible for controlling the flow of traffic through or around constructions sites, setting up signs, and adjusting as needed. Construction flaggers help mitigate the possibility of accidents around construction sites and ensure drivers are aware of work being done ahead. Flaggers safeguard construction workers, pedestrians, and drivers on the road.

Requirements for candidates:

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License
  • Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, in all weather conditions
  • Must be able to hear and see approaching traffic with the ability to move quickly if need be
  • Must be able to work 4 days a week

The State of Washington requires all Traffic Control Flaggers to successfully complete a Flagger Certification Course. You will need your flagger certification card, valid driver's license and social security card for orientation. If you are not already certified, we offer the flagger certification at our home office in Tukwila.

PLEASE NOTE THIS A VARIABLE HOUR POSITION. WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THE NUMBER OF HOURS YOU WILL BE WORKING ON A WEEKLY BASIS. TYPICALLY, OUR EMPLOYEES WORK PART-TIME HOURS BETWEEN 25-40 HOURS PER WEEK.

Where is Traffic Control Services located?

We have locations in Tukwila and Bellevue. Flagger Certification Courses are completed at our office in Tukwila.

What training is provided?

Traffic Control Services provides a Flagger Certification Course. It is required by Washington State that all flaggers complete this course before working on a jobsite. Additional onsite training is provided. We utilize the skills, talent, and expertise of our employees to help train and develop skills in new hires.

What is the starting pay?

Flagger positions start at $20/hr and set up crew positions start at $23/hr. There is potential for Prevailing Wage on occasion.

What are the requirements for a construction flagger position?

As a flagger, you will need a valid driver’s license and a flagger verification card. For orientation, you will need your flagger verification card and social security card.

Who do I contact to make sure my application was received?

How many hours can I work?

Flaggers can expect to work 25 - 40 hours a week. It is important to note that we cannot guarantee you will work 40 hours each week.

Is traffic control experience required?

Traffic control experience is not required. We offer onsite job training, and all applicants must have a flagger certification card. It is not necessary to receive this card through us if you have already completed the program.

Is it required to work on weekends?

Because the workload varies week by week, there may be times weekend work is available and possibly required. We ask that employees are available 4 days a week. We will do our best to work with employees to mitigate any scheduling conflicts but ask that employees be flexible.

Is this a part-time or full-time position?

This position is part-time as we cannot guarantee the number of hours you will be working each week. Typically, our employees work anywhere from 25-40 hours.
